Our unique peer network brings a range of opportunities for anyone in a chairing role to come together to share experiences and learn.
Our programme of Chair-focused events includes small networking dinners, workshops and briefings in locations across England. Members get priority booking on all events.
New Chairs can attend a New Chairs Briefing session for free (usually £40), recommended by 99% of previous attendees, and get a discount on Dynamic Duo workshops.
Live interactive webinars (launching in 2019) include chat functions for group discussions and questions. Meet and learn from other Chairs without travelling.
Access practical resources
As a new member you’ll receive a free print copy of A Chair’s Compass (usually priced at £25). It focuses entirely on the Chair’s perspective and the particular challenges and opportunities of the role.
Members paying the higher membership fee will also receive a print copy of A Question of Balance which looks at how to forge a successful relationship with your Chief Executive.
All members gain access to resources written specifically for Chairs in our members only area. In 2019 we will be adding resources on finance, appraisals and sharing new video content.
Our monthly e-newsletter is packed with relevant news and practical resources to help you lead your board to govern effectively. We'll keep you up-to-date with sector news and best practice.

The role of AoC
We champion your role as a Chair of a charity or non-profit organisation. We highlight the importance of the role of Chairs to key decision makers for example by responding to policy initiatives and consultations.
We are continually developing our offer to make sure we are supporting members in the best way. We welcome feedback and are keen to develop our services in response.
