This online workshop is aimed at Chairs who are new in post or about to take up the post. The session will explore the leadership skills and knowledge that will make you the most effective Chair you can become – and the support that you might need. The emphasis will be on the strengths you bring, as well as the ‘gaps’ you want to fill.

Our online peer sessions are designed to help you connect with other Chairs and Vice Chairs, share your experiences and learn from those who may be facing similar challenges and opportunities to you.

Association of Chairs (AoC) in partnership with the campaign organisation Action for Trustee Racial Diversity (ATRD) is bringing together current charity Chairs, aspiring Chairs from ATRD’s Black and Asian Future Chairs Academy (BAFCA), and current/aspiring Black and Asian trustees.

As Chair, building and maintaining a successful relationship with your Chief Executive is a key part of the role. But it’s not always a simple task. This session will look at what is needed at key stages in the Chair-Chief Executive relationship including appraising your Chief Executive. 

When the relationship between Chair and Chief Executive is strong they are a dynamic duo, both adding value to the organisation. When the relationship is in trouble it’s hard on both Chair and CEO and the organisation suffers. This digital event explores how to balance the roles and how to bring out the best in each other.
