We invite you to the Leeds launch of

A Chair’s Compass – a guide for Chairs of charities and non-profit organisations
Written by the Association of Chairs, the Guide fills a ‘governance gap’ in information and support specifically for Chairs.

Join us at the offices of DWF in Leeds on Tuesday 4th November at 10.00am for a 10.30am start, closing at 12.00 noon to learn more and receive your free copy. This event is free of charge to attend.

The launch will include a briefing by the Guide’s authors, Ruth Lesirge, co-founder and Chair of the Association, and Ros Oakley, co-founder and interim Executive Director.  The meeting will be chaired by Catherine Rustomji, Head of Charities & Social Enterprise at DWF, and will allow for plenty of time for questions, discussion and feedback.

There is also the opportunity to help the Association shape its programme of local activities and events in the year ahead.  The Guide addresses both the formal and informal roles Chairs have to play.

September supper club with guest speaker Luke Johnson
Monday 22 September 2014 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

We are looking forward to welcoming Luke Johnson to our September supper club.  Affectionately dubbed “Cool Hand Luke,” he is one of the most successful and eclectic business leaders in the UK today: entrepreneur, portfolio Chair and engaging columnist.

Luke Johnson’s business acumen has taken him to the highest ranks of English entrepreneurship. In his early twenties, as he was graduating from Oxford, he was running a number of successful businesses. A decade later he was the chairman of Pizza Express, expanding the chain from 12 restaurants to more than 250 and later starting his own restaurant chain, Strada, which now has nearly 100 locations.
