Feel like you’re chairing in difficult times? Looking for more support?
As Chair you need to ensure your charity focuses on the right things, uses it resources well and achieves its purpose despite changing circumstances. For smaller organisations this can be a challenge, with reliance on a small staff team and or volunteers and minimal funds to pay for external expertise.
This workshop aims to provide you with the knowledge and tools to ensure your charity has the strategy, resources and processes to succeed. This workshop will help you to be clear about what needs to be in place and ensure that it happens. It will support you to identify the boundaries between planning and overseeing the work and the separate task of actually carrying it out. You will have the opportunity to share learning and sources of support with Chairs of other smaller organisations.
This is a free pilot workshop being run as part of the Association of Chairs’ Small Charities Programme. In return we ask for your feedback as part of this workshop.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
- Find workable approaches to developing a strategy and managing resources in a small charity
- Identify key threats to your organisation and how to manage them
- Discover further sources of support to strengthen your organisation
- Gain insights and top tips from other Chairs of smaller organisations
Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
This free pilot workshop is open to AoC members and non-members. The Small Charities Programme is aimed at Chairs and Vice Chairs of charities in England with an annual income of under £1 million. Thanks to the Big Lottery Fund we will be running these workshops in 9 locations in England from autumn 2018 until spring 2020. We will be launching the full programme soon.
