Do you have the skills and perspectives you need on your board? Do your trustees work well as a team?
As a Chair, your role includes recruiting, supporting and developing trustees, building an effective team and ensuring a healthy turnover of people. This can be a challenge in a smaller charity. Often, a limited pool of potential trustees, a reliance on one or two key individuals and a reluctance by some to move on are just some of the issues you might face.
This pilot workshop will help you to support and develop individual trustees and the board as a team. You will have the opportunity to share learning and sources of support with Chairs of other smaller organisations.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
- Identify and attract new trustees with ideas for effective recruitment approaches
- Build an effective, high performing trustee team
- Put in place succession plans, both for your role as Chair and other trustees
- Gain insights and top tips from other Chairs of smaller organisations
Registration is from 1:30 pm – 1:45 pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
Attendance at Beacon Programme workshops could count towards your continuing professional development. Let us know if you need evidence of attendance.
This is a pilot workshop, therefore your feedback will be required at the end of the session.
