We’re excited to announce our first ever supper club for members on 11th February. We are delighted to have as our guest speaker Julia Unwin, who has a reputation for her insightful work on governance. The event is kindly being sponsored by CCLA.
The presentation will be entitled Reflections on governance in tough times and Julia will reflect on her experience of governance, both as an executive and as a board member in public, private and charitable settings. She will consider what particular challenges governing bodies face in changing times.
Julia Unwin is Chief Executive of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust and is known for her extensive research and writing on the role, governance and funding of the voluntary sector. She was a member of the Housing Corporation Board for 10 years and a Charity Commissioner from 1998-2003. Julia was also Deputy Chair of the Food Standards Agency and worked as an independent consultant operating within government and the voluntary and corporate sectors.
Our supper clubs are designed to enable Chairs to hear from our invited speaker and to get to know their peers and exchange ideas and viewpoints over a meal. We hope to see you there.
