Hear from Beryl Hobson, an experienced Chair in the voluntary and public sectors.
Our Expert Insight Sessions will give you the opportunity to hear from an expert, ask questions and discuss with fellow Chairs and Vice Chairs.
This session will be led by Beryl Hobson. Beryl is an experienced Chair in the voluntary and public sectors. Like all our members she is thinking through her role as a Chair in the time immediately beyond Covid-19. What are the strategic, financial, and human opportunities and challenges facing organisations and boards? How should Chairs think about when and how to transfer their energy from short term, emergency mode to more long term, strategic planning; and how can this be done without causing issues such as overloading staff members? She will share her ideas on the problems Chairs may face in changing gear into more long term thinking and how they might use creativity and resilience to get through these dilemmas.
The session will be held over the online platform, Zoom, enabling you to see the expert and others joining the session face to face. Never used Zoom before? Do not worry! Following sign up we will send you a link to join the video call and instructions on how to use Zoom (e.g. how to check your sound and video are working).
The session will begin with the expert giving a short presentation on a particular topic. There will then be opportunity for you to ask questions, share your own learning and experiences and to hear from others.
