Wednesday 13 April 2016. 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

It’s often said that people are an organisation’s greatest asset.  So how does your board take care of its staff?  And what is an ethical approach to HR in charities? There are so many issues to be considered. How does the board balance the legitimate needs of staff and the needs of beneficiaries? How do you set pay? Do you set a ratio for highest and lowest pay? Should you commit to a living wage? What about pensions? What’s your commitment? Do you offer pensions that are ethically invested? What balance do you strike between developing internal talent or recruiting external expertise? And how do you safeguard the well-being of your staff?

Our speaker is June Goodson-Moore a highly experienced HR professional who has worked as a senior NHS director, CBI Employment Tribunal member, Deputy CEO and is currently serving as a trustee at Yorkshire Dance. We will also be joined by Stephen Philips from Punter Southall, who will discuss auto enrolment and any pension implications from the Government’s recent budget.

We are grateful to Bradford Cathedral for hosting the event. You are invited to stay for networking and a buffet lunch (for a small individual donation to the Cathedral.).  You would also be welcome to attend an organ recital in the Cathedral from 1pm to 1.45 pm.

Wheelchair accessible via ramps.
