When the relationship between Chair and Chief Executive is strong- they are a dynamic duo both adding value to the organisation. When the relationship is in trouble the organisation suffers. Getting the right balance in the relationship is not straightforward, and of course you may have different views about what healthy looks like. This event explores key challenges and shares a range of insights from experience on how to get the best out of each other.

ACEVO and the Association of Chairs are holding this joint event to look at the relationship from both perspectives: CEO and Chair. It draws on the experience both organisations have and is an opportunity for you to hear from and share with your peers. Topics covered include: harnessing process and personality, when things go wrong and 9 key areas where perspectives may differ.

Kindly sponsored by RBS the event will be held in Manchester on 28 June. It will run from 10.30 to 3pm. It will be chaired by Derek Twine. Speakers include: David McGovern and Paul Martin (Chair and CEO of LGBT Foundation;)  David Parr and Pamela Ball (Chair and CEO of Knowsley CVS); and Carole Easton,(Chair Young Minds and CEO of Young Women’s Trust); Jenny Berry (ACEVO), Ros Oakley (Association of Chairs).

Chairs and Chief Executives are both welcome- we particularly recommend you come as a pair. It’s a good opportunity to take stock of how you are working together.
