November supper club with guest speaker Andrew Adonis

andrew-adonisWe are delighted to announce that Andrew Adonis, Baron Adonis, former Secretary of State for Transport and Minister of State for Education, will be our November supper club speaker. Lord Adonis will be speaking about his experience in public service and the non-profit sector.

Lord Adonis worked as an academic and a journalist before immersing in politics, recruited by Tony Blair in 1998 to the Number 10 Policy Unit, specialising in constitutional and educational policy.  In 2005 he was appointed to the Government as Under Secretary for Education. Under Gordon Brown he was appointed Secretary of State for Transport.

After the 2010 General Election, Lord Adonis served as the Director of the Institute for Government, a non-partisan charity focused on increasing government effectiveness.  He is currently chairman or trustee of a number of charitable organisations focusing on education, including Progress, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, Teach First, and Edge.

The event is to be held in on Thursday November 13 from 6pm-8pm. Venue information will be confirmed later.
