Association of Chairs Appoints Financial Governance Specialist and Former Charity Commissioner as New Trustees

The Association of Chairs has added two new trustees to the original five founder trustees.

They are Jacqueline Williams, who has had a career in audit, regulatory compliance and financial governance, and John Williams, who co-founded the leading public relations company Fishburn Hedges and has served as a Charity Commissioner.  (They are not related.)

John Gladwin, former Bishop of Chelmsford and chair of the Association of Chairs, commented:

“You wait a long time for the right Williams and then two come along at once.  We are delighted to welcome Jacqueline and John into what will be, for our start-up organisation, very hands-on roles.  They will add to the diverse mix of skills on the board and bring an especially valuable range of experience and expertise, as we seek both to grow the organisation but also add value to every member’s involvement.

“The Association has made a good start and there is every evidence of an encouraging welcome for our role.  We held our first members’ seminar this week with Julia Unwin and we are now focusing on establishing our research programme.”
